I shave mine partly because I hate getting hair caught on butt plugs, etc, and partly because I hate a hairy ass crack on other guys, so I don't want one myself.
It also feels cleaner not having hair back there, and knowing that lube and stuff won't get stuck amongst it.

I figure if I am shaving my front, may as well go the whole nine yards. I don't shave my cheeks. The times I've let my hair grow back I've not noticed any extreme hair growth. And with my hair being so fine, it's hardly even noticeable.
