HONEST QUESTION....About anal sphincter tone.

Contributor: Bignuf Bignuf
Okay, we are long time anal play fans. We know multiple others who do this too. NEVER have we had problems with "anal sphincter tone", and I am "tight as a tick" despite my hubby spending some quality time deep in there a couple times a week. However, on one of those "TV SEX TALK SHOWS" someone again said something about "being careful not to do too much anal and become fecally incontinent"?

Honest question. Has anyone out here in EF land suffered that fate? Has anyone lost full control or even suffered partial control of their normal sphincter tone from anal play?

Please educate us. Thanks.

OK, I'll bite. I'm probably not the best person to respond to this since my anal play is very sporadic (for the reason you just highlighted.) I have never had any incontinence issues at all. I have seen this topic discussed on various places on the net (yes, I Google searched it ) and I could not find one mention of incontinence from anal. That doesn't mean it doesn't happen of course, but it's probably very rare. Still, I don't want to take the chance, which is why I only do it once in awhile.

I do a fair amount of anal play, using toys that many people would gasp at, then back slowly away from (after making sure that there wasn't another one in the area that might be making for their bottom), and I have had zero problems with sphincter tone or, for that matter, hemorrhoids.

The problem can arise if you do something really stupid or are the victim of anal sexual violence. Forced insertion of things can tear the anus and sphincter and cause problems.

Be smart, be safe, be slow and lubed. Know your limits and stick to them (stretching them is possible but takes patience!).

fecally incontinent is a myth made up by an uneducated and misinformed American society of know nothing idiots. Any person or doctor that makes this claim is full of shit and should shut the hell up.

I'm with ScottA on this one. Unless you push past pain you'll be fine.

A lot of anal problems come from ignoring the ass, not from giving it extra attention. Ignoring an urge to go to the toilet, unconsciously clenching the sphincter because of stress, bad diet, not exercising the PC muscles - that can give you problems.

Wow! NOT the wording I would've started with!

I'll echo ScottA on this one.
