Is there such a think as an "anal type" woman?

Okay, first let me not step on anyone's toes here. This topic came up at our Friday Night "free speech" dinner group, one of the largest groups we ever had!!!! There were 21 couples (42 people) and we went from "dinner" at 7 PM and not one couple left the "designated dessert house" till after 2 am. It was amazing.

We started by discussing if there were "types" of men, or woman into certain acts. Within our age group (very early 40's to mid 50's) we decided that oral sex had already become "white bread, mainstream" by the time we were teens, so that was "out" for consideration. However "anal" was still the "taboo", so some did it, and some didn't.

The topic actually was very animated and went on all night. We all seemed to think that some "woman" types were into it and others were not.

If you are "INTO" anal play, do you fit into the categories' we cooked up?

This is hard to put into a simple poll, since I am trying to condense a night full of amazing pecan pie and superb hazelnut coffee, and great mind games.

We decided that the woman who were "into" anal were 1. Artsy, Low maintenance, Low Drama types. 2. Country girls. 3. Earthy "hippie" girls and 4. Science "geeks" who loved to experiment.

Those who were "not" into anal, were, in our opinion, 1. High maintenance girls (into their makeup, cloths and how they look, smell, dress at all times). 2. Athletic types (which I disagreed with, since I am an athlete, but was also "very low drama") 3. Super religious or uptight/shy girls

Again, please don't get angry. We were not putting anyone down or categorizing anyone scientifically, beyond a great evening of chewing the cud with friends. However, I am curious to see if we got anywhere near the mark, with the only group I could ask, the AF family here!

I think there is some merit to the concept. My wife who is the fastidious makeup loving type - refused anal for more than 20 years - but I turned her to the dark side!. She wouldn't admit to 'loving it' but she asks for it and has orgasm doing it.

Good question - I'd also like to hear what others think.

This is the most odd thing on earth. This whole thing started over five years ago. Strangely, we are very "different" background couples, who happened to have kids that either went to the same school, or played on "out of school" sports teams together. We were always doing the "families" things at local diners. One day, one of the group said "we need to have just a "parents night out", and that started our group going to different restaurant's, kid free, every Friday, and after dinner we would go to someone's house for desert. Simple enough.

The thing is, discussions often turned to politics, sex, economics, relationships....we were a good mix for very, very open discussion. When we were at a house where the kids had gone off to college, the conversations got far more "rowdy" and "x rated". Those couples not into this left the group. Other couples were "brought in" by members who knew them. Within about a year, we had about 17 couples, and it has grown or shrunk as people moved, or joined in, but at most we have about 28 couples (some join only once or twice a year, as they don't live here anymore, and are just visiting).

Now, the topics run hot and heavy. I guess it's as close to a weekly "orgy" as you can get with your cloths on, and no one cheating on anyone else. Everyone is happily married, and this allows us to toss around fantasies and ideas, and discuss things you just can't talk about anywhere else. It's FUN. We also have amazing desserts and coffee to boot and love each others company for doing other things sometimes. (10 couples just went together to enjoy a long weekend and see a play and shop in NYC)!!!

When a woman goes through menopause, there are huge changes in her vagina -- the tissue becomes thinner and there is very little natural lubrication provided by the body. It is often regarded as an uncomfortable experience, however there are little to no changes to the anus during this time and in comparison it is more pleasurable than vaginal sex.

I find this whole "categories" business incredibly limiting, and borderline offensive. People can't and shouldn't be grouped like this based on their sexual interests, and broadly assumed that these "types" of people will like various things based on their "category". Really overgeneralizing. less

What you say about changes in menopause seem accurate - but that does not address why a post menopausal woman would prefer anal sex.

If a post a menopausal woman has some dryness - lubrication solves that problem - as it does for anal sex where no natural lubrication exists. If a woman - such as yourself objects to anal sex - going through menopause is not going to change her mind.

It seems to me that since you are admittedly 'not interested' in anal sex, you seem to think that 'normal' women wouldn't be interested either.

We all let our biases affect our view of the world, I just think in this case, your bias gives you a distorted and untrue view of this issue.

There is a huge body of evidence on the EF Forum site (947 anal sex threads) that clearly show that anal sex enjoys wide acceptance. Considering very few EF Forum contributors are post-menopausal, it's safe to say that menopause is a red-herring in this discussion. less

Categories and generalizations offend many. As we all sense - there are always so many exceptions that attempts at this are futile.

However - my experience with Bignuf is that they pose the question primarily as a fun way to get people to think.

I take the proposition as it's intended - just a fun way to stimulate interaction - not something to be offended by - or overly analytical about. less

I think both Slutty Girl Problems and Gunsmoke make valid points. It def appears the Bignufs like to throw things out there with no harm intended.

As for Stormy and Gunsmoke's difference of opinion, sounds like there should be a thread for asking why some women prefer or enjoy anal sex as much as vaginal or more than vaginal.

Sounds like a poll or thread is needed asking: Which do you enjoy more, equal, and your age, and why ? If you want to include race, it's my opinion that Orientals do not enjoy anal as much as others. Hope that statement does not create a storm.

Let's all enjoy life and sex and get along. No need to argue about anal. If you enjoy it then that is great. If not that is ok too, no matter the age, race or whatever. less

Debating is never frowned upon here, it keeps things interesting. Gunsmoke was spot on when he stated that the demographic on the site wouldn't warrant a post like that because most of our community consists of early to late 20-somethings with a smattering of other ages peppered in -- but you are indeed correct that it is okay to not like anal or love anal and be of any background, creed, orientation or religion. less

Totally "no harm intended". How could this question harm anyone, anyway? It was just seeing if our "coffee talk" had merit in any way in the real world, or was total B.S.. Either way, it doesn't say anything about anyone...good or bad. Furthermore, I will say that the Post Menopausal comment did chap me, however. I was enjoying anal long before I was "up there" in age. Not sure that age factors into this at all. less

I absolutely LOVE anal...but I wouldn't say I fit into either category completely. Yeah..I'm from the south. I'd say I'm somewhat high maintenance but I'm a stay at home mom and am not the type to make sure that I'm all makeup'd and dressed nice when my hubs gets home. I'm only into the makeup and hair get up when we're going somewhere.

I am artsy..but I'm not low drama by any means! I'm the bitch of the entire family..ya know, telling everyone how it is and everyone knows I'm the one in control!

So I'd say I do not fit into your categories at all! But...did you consider that maybe it's the bitchy chicks like me that like anal because it makes them feel like FOR ONCE they are BEING controlled?! I know for a fact that's why I LOVE it. I'm the one that's in control of everything - get togethers, dinner, EVERYTHING to do with the kids, laundry, EVERYTHING! Anal is the one thing (even though it really is me in control) that makes me feel like my husband is controlling ME.

And of course..because anal is friggin AWESOME!

Edited post: I've just sat down and read the entire thread and whoa. I made the above post just answering the question without realizing all the banter that took place prior to my post. I think people are getting a little too touchy on the aubject and I believe there was no harm intended on ANYONES post.

I love the idea of having a group of friends sitting around talking about all of this. My best friend has banned me from talking about it in front of her husband because she's too scared to try it sober and doesn't want her hubby begging for anal. Her husband also think my husband and I are "like porn stars". As far as I'm concerned, to each their own but if you haven't ever tried it..then you certainly cannot say what type of person will like it.
