Recently we tried anal sex after not having done it for a good six months. I used my Pure Plug during PIV in preparation and a TON of lube. It hurt like hell, so we had to stop after a few minutes. Anal used to feel awesome, what happened? Has anyone else had pain after not doing it for awhile?

You got tight, It happens. You'll just have to work your way up that ladder again. Your anus doesn't stay loose forever, it does shrink back to "virgin" tightness if left on its own long enough.
There also is a possability you had a fissure. I'm dealing with one now and I noticed that it's made me super tight. The scar tissue pulled my muscle tissue together. A plus I used to be able to wear with ease now hurt to put it in... which also sounds like your case.
