I don't have any qualms about that sort of thing. None. Nor does my partner. In the beginning of our relationship, I actually had a blood flow more often whereas now, my meds keep me from actually bleeding except every so often a pink tint we notice. So obviously this is less of a problem for us both because blood does not phase us and because I rarely have had blood for several years now. There are some spontaneous days though.
But when we first began dating, I wasn't comfortable with him doing oral while I was menstruating (with heavy or lighter days) because I was scared he was like most men and thought blood from a vagina was dirty. He cleared that up for me real quick and talked me into doing it.
Shower well, use a tampon. Then there's no worries at all. Remove the tampon for intercourse. You may get blood on you or the sheets, but it's your partner and if you'd stick your penis in it, surely you wouldn't be grossed out by the blood being on you.
Simple solution. I don't think it's gross or anything and these days, I'm comfortable with it. It takes no time to rinse off and wash up to make sure there's not blood on you before your parnter gives you oral. So I personally think if someone likes it, why not?

I don't have to worry about that anymore, but I used to if she took a shower first, but not into tasting blood and stuff. Don't mind sex on period either, but again, no more worries there either...my GF is done with all that.
