My husband and I both have our tongues pierced. If taken out, neither of us really notice a difference one way or another. The only way to really make a difference is if you get special rings for giving oral (which generally are huge, bulky, and hard to work with). There are techniques that I can use to work my tongue ring so it's more noticeable, but my husband doesn't really seem to enjoy that as much as just regular oral.
