I can't tell you how many times I've heard (from women usually) that sex is better when you're in love/emotionally attached etc etc... I don't feel that way, personally. I think they both have their pros and cons, but for me, generally the quality of the sex comes down to how comfortable I am at the time, with the person I am having sex with (be it a random partner or one I'm in a relationship with). I have had plenty of sex with people whose names I don't even know and never saw again, as well as plenty of "emotionally attached" sex as well as "friends with benefits" scenario. What are ou thoughts on this?

my wife and I have only been with each other. And in 20 years, I have had no complaints. And neither has she. Sex is something you share with the person you love and spending your life with.

I have had both and when there is an emotional connection it just means so much more to me. No matter what the skill level or experience of the guy, if I feel something for him, it is going to mean more to me aswell.

I've only had "attached" sex, but since I'm pretty demisexual, I wouldn't want to try random sex. Just my personal preference.

I prefer to have an emotional connection with a person i'm having sex with, because i can trust that person 100% and am usually just much more into and excited about sex if i have an emotional attachment with that person. Sex for me has progressively gotten better with the more partners i experience weather they are friends with benefits, one night stands, or a committed relationship.

I have had very little 'unattached' sex in my life - most of that in college. Until marrying at 35 - I was into 'serial monogamy' - going from one relationship to another - each lasting 6 months to several years. I never liked juggling multiple partners.

wow- I'm really surprised at the results so far- that so many people prefer sex with someone they care about. Is it that you feel less inhibited or? I'm a very bold. blunt, outgoing person, so I think that makes a difference perhaps.

Yep, I said other. I love sex with my husband, but we can get in a rut. And we both enjoy bringing a girl to bed with us, so that's where we still get our "random" sex. Not only is it super-fun, it ups both of our sex drives. I'd say we probably have four times more sex when we are having/have had threesomes just between the two of us.
