Did they make you feel uncomfortable? I was already educated by the internet in my early teen age so I avoided speaking about it.
Have your parents told you about sex?

My parents told me about it around 10 or 11. I didn't feel very awkward about it at the time (no one was really talking about it at school yet) and now I'm glad they told me kinda early. It explained right off the bat WHY I was gonna be bleeding once a month, and I knew not to believe many of the kids in class when they started talking about it.

I've already read a bunch of books and encyclopedia articles about it before the talk, so we had nothing to talk about.

I grew up in the 60s. My parents did not discuss sex with me at all.

My mom told me only the science side of sex. It was such a short talk that I didn't even know the man put his penis inside the woman's vagina until I met up with my cousin to compare notes (she got the talk the same day).

I have a older brother, by the time my dad sat me down to talk, at 16, I had already seen, felt and had sex with a girl. I ask HIM what he wanted to know. lol

I never got "the talk" but I did get bits and pieces of information across a number of brief conversations, mostly when we were in the car. i had the basic idea by the time I was 6 or 7.
We had sex ed in 5th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 11th grades (with the 7th grade sex ed being extremely comprehensive) so I got what I needed from that. Both of my parents were teachers, so I think they had a pretty good idea of what was covered in school.

She: We had these books about where babies come from just on the bookshelves when we were kids and it was always OK to ask anything, so we knew all the basics from a really young age. My mom even gave us condoms from a toy basket she and my dad got from Lover's because they don't need them. She told me that paints make for really good foreplay. I think it's safe to say that we have talked and still regularly talk about sex and that it's not awkward at all.
He: I had to ask, and it was definitely awkward.
She: His mom's a prude

We talked a little here and there, but never a full blown talk. I got the details from my mom though over a long time.

My parents and I never had a big "talk," but they just said small things here and there.

My mom tried to talk to me about it, but I freaked out and told my mom I already knew. Reality was that I hardly knew anything. I had to find out through awkward conversations with my friends.

All I remember once was my mom asking me if I knew what it was....I lied and told her no. and that was that. I got my sex ed in school.
