I rarely wear them unless I make an effort to for whatever reason. Usually I will wear them to help hold my jeans up. LOL. I do go commando under skirts/dresses, but not for any other reason than comfort, and never with a short skirt. That'd be impossible to get in & out of a vehicle with, and I've tried it. Learned my lesson. Twice.
I do not visit clubs or bars and if I did, I'd be wearing a turtle neck and 16 pairs of underwear. No chances! Lol. I just ditch the panties because they are terribly uncomfortable to me. I think I was doomed to a life of going pantyless from the get-go though. This is like a family tradition for the women in my family, strangely. All started with my grandmother. She gave up undies, my mom never wore them, older sis never wore em' and at the age of 16, I decided they had the right idea one day when I didn't have any underwear except the ones I'd worn the day before, and decided to go commando. I never looked back. Lol.
I do love my HUGE panty collection though. They're so gorgeous, bright and sexy. I still buy them and do wear them sometimes when I just want to wear them because I start feeling bad about them being so pretty and stuck in a drawer. I wear my spandex boy shorts around the house while cleaning & stuff since it's comfortable.
