Ladies, do you think it's cheesy when...

...a man says, " I want to make love to you."? Or is it romantic?

At my work Christmas party a few nights ago, I was semi-drunkenly discussing seduction techniques with a few female co-workers. When I mentioned the phrase, they looked at eachother, laughed and told me. "No one calls it 'making love' anymore."

So has any man ever said it to you? I admit I've used it a few times in the heat of the moment.
Is it just semantics to say %&*$# or making love? Is there a difference between how you %&*$# someone and how you would 'make love' to them?
Opinions ladies, pls!!!!

I guess it depends on how it is said.. It definitely can be corny.

It depends on who is saying it. I don't find it cheesy if my husband says it. If a guy who I don't know well or barely dated said it to me, I would think it was cheesy. If love has nothing to do with my relationship with the guy, he is better off just saying he wants to @!?# me. I won't be offended.

I never say it. I think it's kind of cheesy but I think it is cute to say to your SO. I personally don't like the phrase because I associate it with too many cheesy movie scenes.

It's a little cheesy to me. We just sort of gently phase into making love, he never really says anything other than "I love you" before or during. If it's slow and gentle foreplay, I know he just wants to make love. He doesn't have to tell me, and I'd sort of rather he wouldn't.

I would not want some one to say lets #### if they maybe said it to where it was not rude then it be ok. I only use making love if involved with someone.

It's cheesy, but I still think it's sweet (but only when a significant other says it).

It depends on the guy and how he says it it can be romantic or cheesey.

I've never actually had anyone say it to me. I might find it cheesy, but it would depend on how it was said.

I prefer the term "fuck." I think it's hotter. But I guess "make love" could be sweet to hear in the right circumstance; I just can't think of one.

It really depends on the context of the conversation. As a pick up line-CHEESE!, but if it is very seductive, complimentary, etc....possible.

Why does it have to be one of two extremes, "fuck" or "make love"? I'd be mildly repulsed by either. Why not just use middle of the road standards like "have sex" or "sleep with"? There's no underlying meaning, just say what you mean.

first i will say YES there is a difference between "fucking" and "making love",i think.making love is more personal, slow, seductiv e,done with passion fueled by love or lust and fucking is everything else.lol.~thats how i define them anyways, but there is a difference! And im sorry but yes it is cheezy to say you wana make love to someone.I have had guys say it to me and i cant help but get turned off by it and them.just bcuz i feel like saying "really, make love?no, more like you just want to fuck me so just say it and dont try to sugar coat it"!
