If I'm sleeping alone, I almost always masturbate in the morning. If I'm not sleeping alone, I like morning sex a lot... as long as we both wake up in time so that nobody's rushed before work.
I must luck out and choose partners who don't have bad morning breath, because while morning breath comes up like 2 or 3 times a month, it's hardly anything to stand in the way of morning sex! On the days where morning breath exists, you can still have sex without kissing. That's what spooning's for...

Morning sex is the only conceivable reason to to wake up before noon when I have nothing to do. I think cosmo is full of crap, though. I enjoy it strictly because it's the only truly enjoyable reason to wake up, I'm an evening person by nature and in the morning, it is by default the only time I have "slow, sleepy sex" because I'm too damn tired still for more vigorous activity. On another note, I love how early morning sunlight looks on my lover's skin and hair, so it's worth waking up early with the drapes open to see him like that.

Mornings are generally unpleasant for me so I'm not in much of a mood for sex. The times I have tried morning sex it just wasn't nearly as enjoyable as later in the day or at night so that's what I stick with.
