I'm not totally sure about changing the smell of urine, but I do know that the flavor of semen can be easily affected by diet, so maybe the same concept can apply there as well. Sweeter foods, such as fruits (especially pineapple) can often help in making semen taste sweeter. Perhaps it would help in the smell of urine?

Not really... being well-hydrated will dilute anything, but since urine is actually the waste products of cells, brought away from their origins by the blood, and filtered by the kidneys. Anything that you digest (like the fructose and ascorbic acid (aka sugar and vitamin C) in pineapple), the flavor will be broken down and totally unrecognizable by the time it's been processed by the cells.
The reason asparagus changes the smell of your urine is that the odor-causing chemical can't be digested by the human body, so it's just excreted right away. (Weird to imagine your blood smelling like that, right?)
Similarly, the fake-sugar "foods" are not broken down by the body, so they just circulate in your blood until the kidneys pull them out and excrete them, still smelling as sweetly as they did when you ate them.
