Masturbation will cause...
-Acne
-Blindness
-Hairy palms
-STDs
-Sterility

Wow, masturbation sounds like an awful drug with some horrible side effects. It could be on one of those commercials for calling a lawyer to get some settlement from a pharmaceutical company.

- Girls don't masturbate

- It always hurts the first time

- After pregnancy women are loose

Those are really all I can think of. Man, mine aren't so fun lol

Hahah I remember the Green M&Ms one! The boys at school used to always save theirs and give them to the girls. A lot of the girls would always refuse to eat them, I'd be like hell yea free chocolate!

Well, for the first few days following a vaginal birth, the vagina definitely isn't what it was beforehand. It'll be a little "loose" for those days. But after healing months later, most return to what they were before pregnancy roughly. There are, of course, exceptions to the rule when there's lots of vaginal tearing during labor.

I actually was pregnant before I met my husband and we were friends during the pregnancy but started dating shortly after she was born. I was soooo scared the first time we had sex because I imagined I was going to be so loose and that he was going to feel nothing. I remember him telling me that it actually hurt HIM a little because I was tight! It's funny that 9.5 years later I can still remember him telling me that because it made me so relieved I cried haha

Yea, right after is understandable. Mine always seemed to go back to normal within a month after having a baby..we kind of sucked at the whole "waiting 6 weeks" thing.

I'm not sure there are that many women who are up to sex a day or two after giving birth. Then again, I've been wrong before! My only experience involved a lot of stitches and a massive fear of even looking at it.

The first time we tried to have sex with a month and a half or so after my son was born. He was rather large and it did not work. At all. I was practically in tears.
Another month and a small vibe and it finally worked but it still hurt quite a bit.

Aw I'm sorry to hear that! Good thing for toys to help you out though.

And doctors generally recommend women abstain from sex completely for the first 6 weeks after giving birth. So really whether or not they're loose for a few days shouldn't matter.

Does anyone remember the line from the comedy flick "knocked up"~ "sex on top won't get your pregnant because of gravity." Urban myths show just how uneducated society is when it comes to sexual health.

Or the coca-cola douche won't get you pregnant. You laugh when you hear it but the upsetting thing is that someone somewhere probably believes it.

I heard about a teacher recommending hot tub sex as birth control. I'm not sure whether the urban myth is putting the words in the mouth of the teacher, or the actual belief in hot tub sex as birth control, but it's disturbing either way.

You're completely right. That's so sad and rather disturbing about rumors and society. People believe what they want to believe. And they'd really like things to be that easy (or shaming, like Lucidity said).

Myth 1: It's impossible to get pregnant on your period.

Fact: Though the probability is a lot smaller, it's not impossible. In fact someone women are more fertile around their periods.

Myth 2: Men have to have regular sex to be healthy and that's why they cheat when their partner doesn't 'put out' regularly.

Fact: Though it's suggested that they "clear their system" and ejaculate every now and then, men are a lot tougher than that and this was created just to defend those cheaters out there. Masturbation is always an option.

Myth 3: Butter makes a great lubricant.

Fact: Uh, everyone at EF pretty much knows this one. Butter is a food item and not a natural lubricant. It will change the pH balance of your vagina and increase your risk (if not guarantee) an infection. Not to mention that as a dairy product, it can spoil and go bad pretty quick and why would you want that down there?

Thanks! I was definitely happy to have something!

I know but I've heard stories of women having sex considerably earlier than 6 weeks. I don't think they're the ones getting stitches though! I'm not sure if the cervix still being that open makes it the wisest choice but I'm not sure how long it takes it to fully close back up.

being sexually active makes your cramps worse.

using a vibe, no matter how small will make you loose.

How about the classics
'Using sex toys will make her not want a man again/ not need sex anymore.'

'If the vag isn't wet then she's not turned on.'

and my all time favorite:

'It's their responsibility to make me cum, not mine.'

*hangs head in shame* I once stumbled upon a Harry Potter slash fanfiction involving the use of butter... That's all I can think of any time I hear butter mentioned as a lubricant.

The ones about getting cramps more often if you masturbate crack me up. I've found that I have considerably fewer cramps if I masturbate during my period.

I think one of my favorite myths is that you won't get pregnant if you have sex underwater. Then of course there's the more widely-known myth that you can't get pregnant the first time you have sex.
