First time I put my finger in I found it.
Some ideas to try. First, make sure you are fully aroused and good and hard. When you are the prostate engorges and that makes it much easier to find. You are feeling for a bump/ball about the size of a walnut about 1-2" inside on the front wall (towards your belly) of the rectum. The closer you get to climax the bigger it will get, so that may help too.
I found the best way to stimulate it in the beginning is with my middle finger and use a "come here" motion. If you have a partner that can help that is even better.

I'm answering for my man - we found it the second time we went looking - kinda. I wasn't intentionally trying for it the first time, I was just trying to get him used to anal fingering - I knew where it was and it would've been nice to come across it, but it wasn't a goal. The second time, we found it in about 60 seconds - but it varies for everyone.

It's easier to find if you're sexually excited, because the prostate will firm up. Try doing a little play first and having another go.

It took me a few minutes the first time, but even as experienced as I am now, there are times where it seems "elusive". Different toys require me to search around sometimes too.

The best way to find it is with a toy that's not too intimidating.

Found it without actually looking for it. I didn't even know what the prostate was at that point, I had just knew it was in that area.

I didn't go out to find it at first. I was simply getting used to playing with my ass. I couldn't reach it myself, so I think mine is a little deeper. Toys have definitely helped and my fiancé found it by hand the first time the other day.
