Probably has a lot to do with age. Pegging really "came of age" and became a widely known (comparatively) sex practice in the mid-'90s on, so most people who practice it probably started at about the same time. For those who are younger (and for whom pegging has been discussed for much of their life), '20s is usually the time when you are in a stable enough relationship to bring up things like more adventurous sex practices.
