Have you ever been discriminated against for being straight?

I went to a gay/lesb club with some friends about a week ago, and it's a club where straight people are welcomed. As long as they don't start trouble, of course. It's just a mainly gay/lesbian club, and it's known for that. Anyhow, I was in line waiting to dance on one of the stages (there are several small stages throughout the club) and they wouldn't let me because I was straight. I found this really rude and the man guarding the stage made a mean remark as I walked off. I felt really left out :/

I have mixed feelings. :/

On one hand, that sucks and shouldn't happen... on the other, being a minority that faces discrimination, I feel they do have a right to have spaces that are just for "them", no matter how "unfair" it might seem to the majority.

Ideally, this should not have to happen, but the world is a messy place.

I can see your point on that, and I agree that it shouldn't have to happen, but I don't know, I just have a problem with any group that fights for equality and then discriminates, especially for something as "trivial" as a space for dancing. It's something that always bothers me to see in any situation.
