I didn't really get to come out to them, someone else i told told them before i could.

It's kind of hard to pin down an exact time period, since I was so confused it's hard to say when exactly I "knew", but within about 4-5 years.

I was 16 and had known I wasn't straight for...probably about 5 years. I knew I liked girls in a way that other girls didn't.

I knew something was up when I was 9 and said something 13-14. I'm glad my family doesn't care, I've heard horror stories from ones that took it badly.

I always knew I liked girls, but I was a kid when I realized there was a phrase for it...and I realized it when my mother had her girlfriend move in and explained to me that there was nothing wrong with two women loving each other. My first thought was "Why would there be? Who says there is?" I was eight when we had that discussion. I told her then that I liked girls - but 'officially' came out when I was 14ish.
