In most people's eyes it's okay or thought of as hot when two women are together but not two men. I dont udnerstand why?
Why is it okay for women to be with women but not men with men?

Generally, that's a mindset I see from straight men. It's seen as "two of what I like! Awesome!" "BUT MEN. EW. HOMOPHOBIA." I suppose it comes from a bit of self-injection into things people find as arousing... for a straight guy to find two women attractive, that's not a problem. But for a straight guy to accept two men being together, well, that obviously (not really) means he wants it to happen to him!

It's like the popularity of yaoi (male on male manga) with straight women...
It's just a different approach to homophobia, really. "It's okay if it's what you're attracted to but not okay if you're not attracted to said gender." It bothers me too.

I think some of it honestly has to do with sexism. A man wanting to be gay is associated to wanting to be more like a woman which is a negative thing, while of course, why wouldnt a woman want to be more like a man. I think that is why men find have those feelings. I dont see as much anti-men with men feelings from women.

No idea at all. I've wondered too though.

I think it all boils down to gender stereotypes. Straight looking and straight looking gay men aren't as frowned upon as the stereotypical lisping queen. And the lesbian pairing that people are most comfortable with is femme-on-femme. A couple of butch women get as much flack as gay men, sometimes.

Hopefully, the times are changing from the bad old days of intolerance. Sadly, they are not changing quickly enough.
