Do you have a Mother's Day tradition? I do....

I started a new tradition after my daughter was born. Instead of the day being all about mom, I have given her a small, very sentimental gift and card thanking her for being my daughter and reminding her of how much she means to me and is loved. I also write her a letter every year letting her know how proud I am of her accomplishments and specific details in who she has developed into as a person. It definitely has made the day more meaningful and special for both of us--without her, I would not be a mom!!

that is the coolest idea I've ever read! May I steal it? My son is 5 but I can start something cool like this and he will understand.

I've always taken the time to thank my little ladies, because you're right, without them I wouldn't be a mom. It used to be that I would do something for their dad, because without him, I also wouldn't be a mother. But making the day all about him only to do the same thing a month later got a little annoying.
