As an adult..Do you still get the "kiddie" goodies on holidays?

Contributor: MamaDivine MamaDivine
My grandma always gets us older kids (adults) something for the holidays. Im talking a PAPER BAG is our "stockings" from her lol. She does easter baskets for us too! Which, usually these "stockings" or "baskets" consist of some candies, and stuff for around the house. It drives me bonkers cause I know she is living on a fixed income, but she can't seem to stop shopping! Since I have been couponing, I have a stock pile of household items now (soaps, laundry stuff, dish stuff, towels etc) so she has run out of things to get for us in those bags lol. Im TRYING to make a point to her that she doesn't need to worry about us adults lol. Shes the sweetest thing though lol. Do you receive gift baskets/stockings/East er baskets and the like from your parents/grandparents still on the holidays?

I get Christmas stockings. My dad and his girlfriend fill them with body wash, lotions, kitchen items, home made jelly, chap stick, nail files and polishes, hair bands and barrettes, gum, note pads, jewelry....

Usually whatever his girlfriend finds that is useful and cute.

I get this too, and when I told my grandparents that they don't have to do that my grandma told me that she knows, but she can't take it with her and that it's her prerogative as a grandmother and it makes her happy. So I shush and smile and give her a big hug and tell her how much I love it. I think it's cute.

My mom gives us all actual toys and little kid candy. I keep telling her she doesn't have to do that because she's not making much money anymore, but she still does. I have a feeling she needs another child to spoil now that we're grown up, but I'm not ready to give her grandchildren.

I'm not a fan of holidays but my Baby is, and she always surprises me with some chocolate in a basket, candies, in a bag, whatever is in her mind... I really don't need it but she loves doing it, and it's fine anyway. I like sweet treats.

My grandparents are dead, but all the way up until my grandmother died she would give us stuff for Easter. I think that's a part of parenting that grandparents grow to miss once their children are grown and they're waiting to find out if they will ever have children of their own. She always picked out the candy on her own and would get my basket in my favorite color. She's the one who taught me how to dye Easter eggs and still have white space on them (you use a white crayon, color the area you want to stay white, before you cook the eggs. When they come out of the water and cool, you can dip them in the dye and the wax build up prevents the dye from permeating the shell.)

Any kind of candy is nice. Even if it's ring pops or candy lipstick.

My dad is usually the one who does it. He gets me a box of chocolates every Valentine's day (I think he feels bad that I never have a valentine lol), sometimes he gets me a little something for Easter and this year for Christmas, I got a stocking from him AND his girlfriend with candy and lotions.

My grandparents are all gone, now. They have been for a long time. My dad and his wife get us little Easter Baskets, with candy and stuff in them. But, we get them one, too.

My parents are divorced, so I see her on Thanksgiving (my step brother's house) and him on Easter (my Dad's house) and they grin and bear it on Christmas at our house.

My parents get myself and My Man gifts on Christmas. His mother only writes checks. No gifts.

My Dad and step mother go over the top for gifts for our kids, though. After one year, when they showed up with 7 or 8 garbage bags filled with wrapped toys for my two toddlers, we had to ask them to tone it down. I had to give half the stuff to either Goodwill or save it for the next year for the giving tree. It was too much stuff for my kids at once. They are TOO generous.

I still get random things from my parents, I think a big part of it is because they are trying to clean out the house and want to send me the odd end things they know they'll never use, but want me to for some reason.

My parents and in-laws both do stockings for Christmas, I no longer live at home so I don't get Easter or valentine's day like my brothers.

I did while my mom was still alive. My dad doesn't do such things though. My SO's mom did give us some stuffed Peeps this year. XD They were extremely cute.

I wish they still did. I love that kind of thing. I like giving baskets to my SOs for Easter but I often can't afford it.
