Are you holiday-ready?

Contributor: SaMiKaY SaMiKaY
My grandparents purchased my man and mine's first Christmas tree last week. It's a small (6ft) artificial tree, but it's ours and we love it! After we got it home, I decided I would put it together to make sure all the pieces were there and decided afterwards to just leave it up.

It's not decorated... yet. But it is in a prominate place in our living room and we have gotten quite a few comments about it being "too soon".

So, are you ready for your holidays (Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, etc)? When do you start getting your house decorated? Do you decorate at all?

Close! I've started buying a few things here and there, but still have the kids and my partner to buy for. We haven't even had time for putting up a tree yet though.

Not at all. We don't do much by way of decoration; just the tree. But we haven't got ours yet, and we still need new tree lights. As for presents, I've yet to get the kids or my sister - their mother - anything.

On a personal level I refuse to do ANYTHING Christmas until after Thanksgiving.

I'm with JR. I don't start to even think about Christmas until after Thanksgiving. The season is long enough without starting it in October.

Ditto this. My son's birthday is usually on or right after Thanksgiving anyway. Too busy to think about Christmas until December comes around.

I will, however, probably pick up some of his gifts for Christmas while I'm doing his birthday shopping. Moreso to avoid dealing with holiday crowds more than once than trying to be super prepared.

We don't decorate much. Just a tree and even then only if my husband feels like putting it up.

My tree is up, but only so that my cats will get used to it before I decorate it. My kitten likes to climb it and I am trying to get her to stop so she doesn't break my ornaments.
