I'm curious how many people here at Eden are participating in Relay for Life this year. This will be my first Relay and I'm realizing more each day how important it is to support the millions of people around the world struggling with cancer. If you haven't heard about or decided to Relay, I urge you to consider it
Are you participating in Relay for Life this year?

I usually do but we're going out of town the weekend our local relay is going on.

My wife does it every year with our kids. I stop by in the morning or evening, but otherwise I try to take that time to go out and do some photography.
The one thing we're no longer going to do is the Koman Race for the Cure. It's increasingly frustrating that virtually none of that money stays local. My wife is an oncology practitioner, and the hospital where she works can't afford to provide the type of support for the patients that the medical staff wants to provide. She's been trying to organize a local Race for the Cure so that her hospital can fund non-medical support for the patients.

I have in the past because my mother is a cancer survivor. I used to do it with my ex all the time because his mother was a cancer survivor, too. It was a nice bonding experience for all of us at the time.
Now that I am very ill, I can't do the relay for life much anymore. It is sad, because it is such a wonderful experience and it is so fulfilling to see all the money raised. It brings so many wonderful people together and I highly recommend anyone that is able to do it to give it a shot; you definitely won't regret it!
