Does your Thanksgiving traditions involve a NAP? If so, WHEN do you take it? Does it matter if you have guests???

We are never sure how to handle that NAP time craving after a big meal, if we have guests over on Thanksgiving.

Do you have the same issues sometimes? What do you do?

One of the BEST and most surprising invites I ever got was from an old boss, who had us over to his place for Thanksgiving lunch/dinner and after the meal and some socializing, he announced to the THREE couples there, "it is our tradition around here to take a little nap, then do TV, DESSERTS, ETC, later in the afternoon. We have THREE guest bedrooms, all are clean and have fresh linens. You are all welcome to hang out here in the living room or outside on the deck and socialize, OR you can take one of the bedrooms and feel free to watch TV, Lounge or take a nap, if you wish. Each bedroom had it's own bathroom and he had even put tiny toiletries out, along with "wrapped" disposable combs and a little note that said "for use of our welcomed Thanksgiving Guests, please feel free to freshen up. We are SO happy to have you here today!"

We will "reconvene" this party in about two hours.

WE went and took a nap. It was AWESOME.

How do YOU handle the "nap" thing at your place???

Yes, I crave a nap, and get it if I can!

However, I often must sneak off by myself to get it.

Always! I require a nap on any of my days off, but especially on Thanksgiving. We just go to my mom's house and I really don't care who comes over, I'm napping!

My sister sleeps an average of about 12 hours a day. Probably not that, but close enough..
As for me, I'm eating at three places this year, which sucks. First at noon, then 4:30 then with my mom after my second. So, hopefully sleep a bit after the first, then VERY well at night.

I remember one year I was just lounging on the floor after Thanksgiving dinner and ended up falling asleep there. Luckily none of my family members disturbed me, even though it was pretty funny to just conk out on the living room floor.

Nowadays my 'nap' is during the 2hrs it takes to get back home.

My thanksgiving nap is usually on the sofa or in a chair after the first or second eating session and while the men are watching football.

I always take a nap at some point on Thanksgiving. This year it'll probably be on the car ride home.

Maybe because I don't eat more than usual on TG, I don't have a special urge to nap.

I rarely nap in general. I have to be super exhausted to be able to fall asleep during the day. Usually I can't, even if I'm tired.

I cant, it is always too noisy at the house we have thanksgiving at. Too many kids running around. It would be nice to relax and watch football after a big meal.
