Money making holiday. You shouldn't need a day to tell the person your with how much you love them lol

Short answer: "MEH!"

Long answer: Don't use a highly commercialized 'holiday' as an excuse to tell/show how much you love somebody, love them the same amount, if not more, EVERY DAY.

Money making holiday, in my opinion. But, in my opinion, ALL holidays are just money making, commercialized days - not just Valentine's Day.

That depends on you. We use it as an official can't break date night for us!! Sometimes after so many years of being together, you lose touch with the dates, you time and the little things that make you feel special. It is a reminder for us to start resuming our small thing in our relationship that we have lost due the the holidays, stress, etc. No excuses, just love each other and remember to show it in small ways!! And keep it going throughout the year.

My girlfriend and I had our first date on February 13th, so we tend to do one big celebration for our anniversary/V-Day. We are kind of mushy suckers for it, though. (^_^)

I agree with 'Tagmstr'; any day can be the opportunity to show someone how much you love them! So VD is motivated by retailers to make money!

I love the sentiment of the origin of the holiday, but the holidays itself I could take it or leave it.

I quite dislike it. I get annoyed by the thinking that, if I do nothing on this one day (as compared to the other 364 - 365 this year), then I'm a bad boyfriend. Fuck that.

I think it's just a money making scheme. It holds no importance to me and it wouldn't bother me in the slightest if a partner failed to acknowledge it.
But then, it wouldn't bother me too much if a partner forgot my birthday either. They just aren't important things to me.
