Help Picking Halloween Costumes?

Contributor: Bex1331 Bex1331
I always love dressing up but I never have a reason to so I'm super excited that this Halloween I actually have plans! I'm going to be in Disney World! Now comes the hard part: picking a costume.
I want something that's easily recognizable and a character that would be kinda fun to spend the evening acting as. I probably plan on making it myself although if I can find a really good one online I might shell out the cash, I just want it to look legit, not super cheesy like most costumes. I can't decide if I want something Disney themed or not since I'll be in the parks. So far I have a few ideas, I'm about 5'3 and 130 with dark hair if this helps.

Megara from Hercules

I love Meg and the costume would be easy to make and kinda hot but I'm afraid no one will know who I am.

Belle's Blue Dress from Beauty and the Beast

Really easy to make and I'm sure I could make myself look just like her but not hot at all.

Catwoman

I'm a big batman nerd and I could look hot as Catwoman, I love that she walks the line between hero and villain, I could also probably get my hands on a pre-made costume pretty easy since it just came out. Might be too hot for Florida though.

Harley Quinn

Harley's personality is just so fun, and if I wear the costume from Arkham Asylum she can be sexy too! Costume shouldn't be too hard to make but I'm not a fan of the face paint and my hair isn't blonde.

Ack, you're so lucky to go to Not-So-Scary! I went six years ago with a few friends of mine and absolutely LOVED it! (Can't wait until my own kiddos are old enough to be able to appreciate it.)

I'd definitely go with either of the two Disney costumes, or if you're going with a group of people getting coordinating costumes. It's so cute seeing families and whatnot dressed up like the casts from the different movies.

Either way, have fun! It's definitely worth it.

I've never been to Disney World and I'm not really familiar with Halloween at Disney World, but this post reminds me of something I saw on the news a while back. This girl took her boyfriend to Disney for the first time and wanted it to be special so she had a very elaborate Tinkerbelle costume that she wore. She got in trouble because Disney didn't want people to confuse her for someone that actually works there and they made her leave! Did you ever hear about this? I wouldn't want that to happen to you.

This year I might go to Scarywood (Silverwood Halloween Nights) and I read that we aren't allowed to wear costumes because they need to be able to tell who's actually working there and who the tourists are. It's no fun at all but that's just what it says. I'm guessing it's the same for Disney? It also says they don't want you to wear wings, high heel shoes, and other items for safety purposes. I have no idea if that applies to you or not.

I like all of your Halloween ideas! Maybe you should have a Halloween party first and then go to Disney dressed normal? Or if Disney allows you to wear costumes then I'd say go for any of them. They all sound cool! =]

Disney deffinatly allows you to wear costumes, I've been to mickeys not so scary in the past, I haven't heard about that tinker bell incident though that sounds weird cuz I've seen some awesome Disney costumes when I was there and there wasn't any trouble...

It was on the news up here in Ohio where someone dressed as Tinker Bell and her boyfriend was dredssed as Peter, they was both kicked out for their costumes looking too close to the actual workers.

I would go with Belle in the blue dress because you can go as a Disney character and its not an outfit most people would pick of hers.
