Have you seen many Salvation Army Kettles/Bells this year?

2012...seems there were a LOT less of them here. How about where you live?

I noticed the same thing. I unfortunately don't have money to give this year but still smile and say Merry Christmas to them when I pass and they barely acknowledge me.

The Wal-Mart I go to had them out there. I put something in to help out.

I've actually seen quite a lot but I refuse to donate to the Salvation Army. There are much better organizations out there.

I'm a big fan of the Salvation Army - there are very few kettles left - but there is one outside our grocery and I always put some $ in.

The grocery is doing something new this year as well. They have bags of food needed by the food banks. You just pick up the bag, pay for it and they deliver the food that the organizations say they want - no guessing! I love it!

I've not seen a single one, but I did all of my holiday shopping online, and have avoided the malls entirely. I have no regrets.

Not sure. I haven't been all over the place, but there are bell ringers at my two local supermarkets as usual. The older lady volunteer sitting inside the entrance of Safeway always has her beautiful and gentle tan colored Labrador Retriever with her, so I always drop a dollar bill into her kettle every time I pass by them.

Wal-Mart is the only place I have seen them this year.
