Has the economy put a damper on spending for the "day of love"?
The news just reported that most Americans are planning on spending less on Valentines this year, then in previous years. How about you?

My partner and I have spent about the same amount this year. That said, we don't really spend a lot. Just a few small presents and a date night each year.

I'm single, so I won't be spending anything on valentine's day
02/13/2013
Spent about the same this year, maybe a little more.

I never spend anything on Valentine's Day.

I think I actually spent money on it for the first time in five years ... I got his present three weeks ago, before the separation, but we're meeting for dinner tomorrow, anyway ...
It was just a Sonic Screwdriver flashlight, so it wasn't too much, I guess.

I'll spend about the same.

I'll spend the same...nothing.

We keep it very low-key. We both like handmade Valentines, quiet dinner at home - that sort of thing. I did spend some points on lingerie for her this year, which is a first.

Always do it right!

Less, but that's because of the distance (can't exactly show up with flowers and make a fancy dinner)

We're just going to do a nice quiet evening at home with dinner, nothing fancy, but we have did this before so its nothing new. Valentines day really doesnt mean that its necessary to go out and spend money, sometimes you just have to get creative

Lost track of time, is it here all ready!
02/13/2013
I spent the same amount this year as I have since middle school: $0
02/13/2013
We don't make a big deal out of V-day, so we never spend much money on it.
02/13/2013
I'll spend less.

I never really got into Valentine's Day. I baked him some cupcakes that I piped pink roses on top of, but I didn't really spend any money specifically on him since I already had all of the ingredients.
02/14/2013
I've never done anything special for Valentine's day, but I'll probably do a last minute order tomorrow on here!

Cat E.
I don't spend a dime on Valentine's Day stuff.
02/14/2013
I don't tend to spend much on V-day normally
02/14/2013
We haven't spent much in past, but we got more for each other this year.

I got him a card & some chocolates, but that's pretty much it.
The family decided to go out and we went to Dave & Busters for the night, where I dropped a chunk of change on game cards.. (kind of regretting it today, I won't lie)
Otherwise, I guess this is technically the first year I've ever bought something for someone other than my Mom, lol.

Yes, I spent less but only because I had less friends.
Last year I had many friends and bought lots of donuts and made cards for each of them. This year they're all graduated or resistant to donuts, so I didn't buy them anything
