I'm not a part of any organized religion, but I respect the meaning of Easter for Christians. It's also an important secular holiday, marking the beginning of Spring. It's pretty awesome how the two traditions both have themes of rebirth.

Thank you! There aren't many who still see it that way.

Both are true. Many Christian 'Holidays' are celebrated on dates that were orginally 'Pagan' holidays.

This is because, rather than ban a pagan holiday, it was easier to 'convert' it.

It's a fun holiday (yes it did start off with religion) but I few it as a nice colorful day, but not just for kids and bunnies. It's spring! Not to mention you can hide anything and go seeking for it...

Since most places are closed, I'm going to the park with some friends and day drinking. Whatever.

I tried to cover that with "Major Religious Holiday". I hope no one was offended or misunderstood that. I realize it is a key holiday for Christians.

I'm mostly in it for the food and discounted candy that comes the following monday. Being able to spend time with family is a plus as well.

First and foremost, it's the day Jesus was ressurected, for me. Of course we also have chocolate and our Easter party, but the celebration we have is for that particular reason.

Means nothing to me, I wasn't raised Christian at ALL. For me it's the day that my Buddhist grandma helped me paint boiled eggs for fun and then we ate them and neither of us had any idea why! Now it's just a day where some stores close early.

I grew up in a family that did not discover religion untill I was an adult. For us Easter was always about the children and time to spend with family. Even now that is what it is about for my family here at home, but my parents have started to celebrate for Religion.

A nice vacation to spend time with family and to eat good foods. My family celebrates the religious aspects. I do not.
