When do you return Christmas gifts that are just wrong size, color, etc? Day after or wait till crowds die down?

Day after Christmas, the lines in OUR mall looked worse then Black Friday. Many returns and many more folks using their gift cards they got as gifts. After roaming the isles in Kitchenwear at Macy, I heard one young lady say "why on earth am I trying to spend this Christmas gift card on picked over, half stocked shelves"? and left the store.

How about YOU? Do you wait and do returns,and gift card shopping later or does it feel like you need to do it IMMEDIATELY?

I've actually NEVER had to do this, however, I would wait until the crowds die down. I mostly know this from experience of working in retail.

I hate it that people come in to spend their gift cards IMMEDIATELY THE NEXT DAY, too. Like... hold onto that shit... come on now.
