collarme.com <-- it's like myspace, well sort of- if myspace had a love child with rude.com and adultmatchdoctor.com.. but it's a good place to start meeting people with the same interests.

I know a lot of people that have online d/s relationships with people they've met off of that site or others.

FetLife.com

Another myspace for BDSM

Also, search for groups in you area via google...search BDSM and your city

Attend a munch (a meet and greet for BDSM lifestylers)

Fetlife's probably a better overall resource for BDSM. CollarMe's more like Craigslist with a paddle and a strap-on - in other words, a carnal free-for-all. With really bad grammar

Start at your own pace. Don't worry about the rules (and they will tell you a great many rules). And if anyone tells you to call him Master, chances are he's a flaming douchenozzle living in his mom's basement, with tattoos on his face and an insurmountably feathered mullet.

Munches can be fun though. Just don't sit next to the dude dressed like a Druid.

Meeting with a local group is probably better than joining up on a site. You have the potential to meet a lot more playmates/people in general at a munch, than sifting through profiles on the net.

I'm right there with you but being home on the computer puts you in your comfort zone. It's one thing to charge into a function full of people you don't know and a lifestyle you're just beginning to spark interest in then searching a few online fetish based website. Also, search the net for terms or common phrases- that way when you do go to an event you know what other people are talking about.

Start slow, take the speed you want, see what ya see and go from there.

There are sites like bondage.com, too. I am also apart of a few BDSM groups on Myspace. The profile sites WILL have a lot of spam but the forums (at least on B.com) can also be pretty helpful. There used to be a lot of websites out there with BDSM information but, as the internet goes, I need to refresh my bookmarks.

I would suggest some reading. Eden carries some books here help. I haven't yet picked up s&M 101 but it is highly recommended.
