I've seen stuff like this pop up from time to time, but spending time on Cracked.com always produces something worth reading, and now I want to go see if I can find a more comprehensive list. I already knew about one of these folks, but I hadn't heard of most of them before. It's amazing what kinds of things, I guess you could say slip by. Interesting. The Nestle thing doesn't surprise me, they are not the most ethical company.

It's funny that so many people think Rosie the Riveter is a "feminist" icon, but what she really was used far is pro-war propaganda.

That poor Afgani girl, life has not been easy for her.

I've seen the people on the Woodstock cover before. I think it's cool that they are still together.

I love Cracked! It is kind of crazy to think about how many ways our images could be used without ever knowing, especially now that it's so easy to steal & manipulate images online!

Wow, that was pretty cool! I saw a documentary on National Geographic that looked up some of those people recently, but not all of them. It was interesting to see the stories behind all of them. Looks like a fun site too, now I'll probably be stuck there a while myself!
