Are you getting bored with tv shows?

Contributor: Cowgirl-Cutie Cowgirl-Cutie
I hate to say it but I am. I feel like most shows out now are failing to keep me interested. Even some of my favorite shows like Vampire Diaries and such.

I blame a lot of this on all the breaks between airings. I feel like we may be lucky enough to get 2-3 episodes and then nothing for months. I hate it! What happened to getting 22-26 episodes a season and they ran most of the year? *sigh*

The only shows I find my self antsy for these days are The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones. And even TWD does the hiatus crap. lol And GoT makes us wait for a year before new episodes.

Am I alone in feeling this way?

Ugh yes! I've resorted to watching foreign shows now.

Yeah, when you have such long breaks it's hard to stay with the story line and you forget details. It sucks..

I am actually, come to think of it, I'm getting bored with television in general.
There's a few shows I bother to watch regularly, but other than that I could care less if it's on or not.

The long breaks don't bother me, really it's the quality of the show when it comes back. Some shows I liked when they started, seemed to not be the same enjoyable show it was before.

I have to disagree. Have you seen "Scandal" and "Person of Interest"? I think they're good shows.

I have really gotten to the point where my tv watching is minimal. I cannot find many programs worth the time to sit and watch them....and then wait for the next season?? Forget it!!

The only thing that bores me is "reality" TV. I hate that garbage!

there are not a lot of shows I will sit down and watch. They have to keep my mind going in order to keep me interested in wasting my time to watch them. Now with that being said. I don't mind sitting down and watching something that makes me laugh, to help me relax after a stressful day. But that is only for 30 minutes or so.

I'm finding it hard to stay interested in shows. I'll like the first season or so, then it just doesn't do it for me anymore.

I like a show that has a lot of thought provoking episodes. My husband says TV shows are great they require no thought and you can miss some of a show and still know what happened.

I completely and totally agree. I myself have moved to watching british shows, and I love them. The scifi, horror, supernatural shows are the best and are super easy to get into and get excited about. lol. Their seasons dont go as long, but they are totally worth it.

I love the walking dead, but I hate when episodes get to be a drag. It seems to be all the same stuff on, so I get bored really easily. I am someone who watches the first season and loves it and then talks myself out of watching the second season for fear it will ruin the whole love of the show. I stuck it out thru walking dead season 2(in my opinion total snoozefest) and have enjoyed season 3 so far, but doesnt have that panic feeling I got from watching season 1

I feel the same way often. I'm not to the point of doing without tv yet, but I'm getting closer all the time. I've even started cutting down on the number of shows I watch.

The wait for the second half of Breaking Bad season 5 would be a lot worse if that show wasn't so darn re-watchable. Seriously, I am enjoying watching it again on Netflix as much if not more than I did the first time I went through it. And the news about Arrested Development coming back has got me seriously excited; watching the hell out of that series again right now.
