Can you resist to read the subtitles when they come in the same language of the movie without a chance to be taken out? :D

Well, they are there, so I can't resist to read them, and muse or growl when something is written differently!

I read them and have to tell myself to pay attention to the movie. It's hard because there's little things you would miss them saying if it wasn't subtitles on the screen.

I find myself drawn to reading them here and there, but not through the whole film.

I can't not read them! lol. It's annoying really but I can't help it, so luckily we don't have too many movies like that.

I actually dislike when a movie is in English and has english subtitles... I'm always reading and not watching the movie as I would like.

I like having subtitles on at home. some of my fave movies don't have good sound , or have characters who mumble, or who have a significantly different accents

Some people feel better putting the subtitles on so they don't miss anything! But when I am around I can't deal with it so if my friends do that I ask them to turn it off.

They annoy me, so I find another version of the film.

I love reading the captions! lol And for some reason, not sure if its possible or not, but I turn it on for my kids too, thinking maybe they will learn to read faster with it there!

I like subtitles just fine, and I don't find them distracting. They're handy in movies with LOUD music but quiet dialog. Seriously, sound guy, balance that crap out!

I always read them because I tend to miss a lot if I don't have them. I turn on the subtitles on all the dvds I watch, and I have closed captioning turned on on my TV. Unless I'm watching porn, in which case I prefer as little dialogue as possible, so I'm pretty unconcerned if I miss something, but usually I fast forward past the irritating crappy acting so I can get straight to the action. But, BACK TO THE TOPIC... LOL! Yes, I love subtitles! Without them, I'm constantly rewinding to try and make out the dialogue. It's not because I have any hearing problems, but because, like Vegan Silk said, sometimes the actors mumble or have accents I'm not used to hearing. I hate missing the dialogue because I'm a VERY auditory person. (I'm not exactly sure how reading the dialogue satisfies my auditory needs, but somehow, it does.)

I try to but find it impossible. On the flip side, if something is in a foreign language, rather than pick up any words of that language I only read the English subtitles and am non the wiser from hours of latino TV

I prefer having subtitles anyway. I usually turn them on while watching television. Helps as sometimes people pronounce something weird and I have no idea what they said, or if people are talking and I can't hear over them.

i read them without really noticing that i'm doing it. i grew up on subtitled english language tv and films, so by the time i was fluent in english reading the subtitles was just a pretty ingrained habit.

I can never resist reading the subtitles and it drives me nuts! I've watched a few movies on my laptop that had them and I couldn't remove them... to keep myself from reading them, I had to place my hand next to the screen to cover them up, otherwise I wouldn't have paid any attention to the movie.
