Yes and no. I think most people are aware of the health risks... I also think the people who smoke just don't care. For these people, no amount of advertising is going to make them quit.
As a smoker, I do think there are enough ads out there. But I also think they don't really help. I think people who are motivated to quit have more personal reasons for wanting to quit: expense, health, family, etc. They quit because they have some type of personal motivation to do so.
Do you think there are enough anti-smoking ads out there to inform the public of the effects of their use? Do you think they are useful?
I think there is plenty of ads, but as to their usefullness I'd have to say very useless (for my mother at least).
Pretty much the only reason my mother was able to quit after about 30 years of smoking (about 18 of which I've spent begging her to quit) was with the help of that Chantix medicine.
I think there are more than enough ads out there, and have been for a while. I think the majority of smokers need more incentive (or a more personal one) than just these ads.
