Game of Thrones Book vs. TV Series

Contributor: pestilence pestilence
What do you think of the TV adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire? The Game of Thrones TV series is staying pretty true to the book, though I wasn't happy with some of the minor changes (Daenerys & Viserys starting out much older, Khal Drogo being a rapist, etc.). I'm really glad they have a large enough budget, though, and all in all it's quite beautiful.

I did not get the impression of Khal as a rapist. I think he is kinda rough on her, and that his clan oftern do rape the women the capture, but I dont remember ever seeing a scene where he was a rapist. Once she got him to understand that is not what she liked, he changed. I do not think it was a matter of rape so much as cultural differences in what is acceptable in a relationship.
