You can't really compare them though... one has been around for what? A handful of years maybe... I have no idea when the books were written - haven't read them. Just heard about the movie.

Versus something most people in their teens to mid twenties grew up reading and watching. I remember being a child and my mom reading that first book to me before I could read them myself... and nothing compares to that magic yeah? And I turned 10 the year the movie was released B| and MAGIC MAGIC it was kind of aweinspiring to see a book acted on big screen that was my childhood bedtime story.

Hunger Games doesn't have that. So it's kind of unfair to try and compare the two... and HG seems more er fantasy-adventure - what with the archery and crap - I never watched much of the movie.
And Harry Potter is 20th Century reality meets Magic. Nothing much in common beyond basic plot elements and child protagonists.

I love both of them but Harry Potter was better all around. After the first Hunger Games, they started to fall flat.
