Finally caught up on season 8 (the last season!) of House.

Anyone watching this season? I've been a long-time lover of the show, and I know it's gotten goofy the last few seasons, but I want to ride it out. There's no way House should still be practicing medicine, but I enjoy the show for the witty writing and dry humor.

Oh we love House! Did you know this is the last season of it? Sadly, they have decided to quit. Hugh Laurie is just fantastic.

I know it's the last season! I am sad, but I think it's about time too.... there's really no way he would ever have gotten away with half of this stuff, and it's always getting more and more ridiculous.

I adore the comebacks House gives to all.. but I agree. It has lost a lot of what made it remarkable in its early years.

I'm sad to see that it will be ending...I haven't caught up on the last few seasons but House is so well written and Haugh Laurie is a gem. Who ever would have thought that the ditz from Blackadder would turn out to be such a brilliant actor??

I really enjoyed the first few seasons, then plot after plot just felt more and more ridiculous. It's hard for me to keep interest in a show when it's supposed to be realistic and I know that some of these things would just never happen.

I tried watching it several times since everyone seems so into it, but the plot always felt too formulaic. "ZOMG, mysterious illness! You may think it is this, but it is actually this!" They treat the patient. It's not that. "OMG! It was not that! It is actually THIS totally random thing!" The end.

I love the show, but think the quality has suffered in the last two seasons. Also, any MD who behaved in this manner would have lost his license, and not gotten it back years before! Not to mention that NO doctor would see all those rare presentations only a week apart from each other. Even the Mayo doesn't see this many rare conditions and odd presentations.

But, taking into account that it IS TV and I think House is hot hot hot hot, I still watch it every week.

My Man looks just like House (and kind of acts like him, he can be kind of rude at times) but he's not a medical genius. Still, people comment on it, and a few people have asked him if he's Hugh Laurie.... and he tells them yes....

UGHHH, I'm so jealous!!! House is HOT, and your hubby looks just like him??!! Hehehe

I do agree, the last few seasons have had me less interested. I also think about "what if I had a doctor like House to deal with as a nurse?" Yea... wouldn't be fun!!

Don't be /too/ sad. Depending on when you last watched, it hasn't really kept up the same old quality.

Haha, I know! I saw Blackadder AFTER I started watching house, and it was so bizarre to see him in that other role.

Thanks, he's yummy! He says he doesn't see it, ("WTF? House is an old man!" My Man is older. ) but people who don't even know him see it. He's built like him and dressed similarly, too. So weird, he's never looked like any other celeb before. (He has a mild Anthony Bourdain vibe about him, but he doesn't actually resemble him closely. Yeah, I like the Bad Boys. Sometimes you get more than you bargain for.....)

But, yeah, he's that kind of man, tall, lanky, wiry, (crabby) sarcastic and starting to lose his hair, gimpy (he got hit by a car a few years ago....long story, it was his own truck. Too many details, but it screwed up one of his legs.) Did I mention crabby? hee hee hee hee......
