Do medical shows on TV make you upset to your stomach? Does watching true life surgeries on a health channel make you nauseous? Do you have to turn the channel because it's just gross? My husband can't stand this stuff and I'm so into watching it because it's interesting. Just curious.

Sometimes I turn my head for a couple of seconds, but usually it doesn't bother me. Violence, especially sexual violence is much more disturbing for me. After watching Mysterious Skin I couldn't fantasize or get turned on for a couple of days. When I re-watched it to listen to the director's and actors' commentary I covered the player window with another program before the rape scene. Hearing JGL speak about shooting it and how the guy who played the rapist is such a sweet, gentle soul, helped me to convince myself it was just "make-believe".

Heee. I adore medical shows. I'm an EMT, so they're fascinating to me. Although, if it's a 'drama' type medical show like 'House' or 'Scrubs', I will be yelling at the actors every time they do something wrong. (Why is it so hard for producers to realize that you don't shock a flatline? Why? *sobs*)

Y-you mean I am not the only one who yells at the TV when the medical "professionals" do something wrong?! I did this while watching ER...A LOT...

I watch a few medical dramas - though I know they're not to be trusted for their medical accuracy, but I just enjoy them for the storytelling. As for true medical shows, they don't really interest me, though I'm not particularly squeamish.

lol. Nope! I'll be fussing about "What the hell? Who taught you to do chest compressions? I should have them shot *after* I take away their cert. Where's your adequate chest recoil, motherf*cker!?!" It annoys my boyfriend to no end.
