Movies aren't as good as they use to be?

Does anyone else feel that movies just aren't as good as they use to be? I've felt this way for a few years now. There aren't any movies that stand out to me anymore that make me wait in anticipation for them to be released in theaters. Maybe my tastes have changed as I grow older, I don't know. But at least for now I feel as though the quality of movies is depleting and there are more and more remakes of older movies or just cheap quick scare movies with no real plot lines.

What are your thoughts?

I totally agree. I have been feeling this way for a couple of years now. Even when I look forward to one coming out, it isn't as good as it should have been......back to my old movies stash.

They all seem to be remakes of movies already done. There have been little to no new ideas coming out of Hollywood.

I think Hollywood is dead or rather dying.

Pretty much everything is prequels, sequels or remakes. And if they make a video, they wait a year and then bring out the next part. Or they are all floofy airless videos.

Where are all the good story line movies that make you contemplate your own existence?

It depends. Occasionally I find a standout or a quite watchable one, and there are some I am looking forward to.
