Would you take off from festivities to see a movie on Christmas day? I'm taking off to see Le Mis, but what about y'all?

OOoh, tempting. If I don't have much going on and it's a great movie, I'd go.

I've done this a few times before I had my son. Now he's excited for Christmas, so no sneaking off for me. lol
12/23/2012
I don't usually go to the movies on Christmas.
12/23/2012
I don't go to the movies, I always wait until the DVD's available and watch it comfortably at home.
12/23/2012
None of my local cinemas are open on Christmas Day.
12/24/2012
I'm probably going to the movies this year. Not sure what I'm gonna see yet.

Heck no. There is no way I'd "take off" from celebrating Jesus' b-day with my loved ones for a movie. That would not be fun for me.

Everything around here is closed on Christmas day. I'd have to drive pretty far to see a movie. I have to work anyway.

I wouldn't sneak off, I'd talk folks into going as well. We did this one year. I could not believe how busy it was. We didn't get into the movie we wanted because it was sold out.
12/24/2012
I'd go if it's something I'm really excited about and I don't have any special/important plans.

Nope. For us it is Family Time. Not "sit in the dark" (even if together, you are not interacting) time.

That, I might do, if the family wants to see something seasonal or cute/funny.

Hubby and I used to, before kids lol

I've wanted to go off and see movies on Christmas Day, but with a toddler and hosting Christmas dinner it just doesn't happen.

Never have and don't plan to

Not Christmas day but any other holiday I would.

I'm at HOME on Christmas!

I'd feel bad for the poor saps working in cinemas if they got dragged in there on Christmas.

The only movie I need on Christmas Day is "A Christmas Story"--even then, I watch it in bits and pieces at TBS plays it through out the day.
03/14/2013
I don't like going to the theater any time, especially on a holiday.

I went and saw Les Mis on Christmas. I've skipped out on many big, family things (with certain family members) and gone to the movies. Big family events can be very intense, and sometimes a break is necessary.
