I recently went to my local Barnes & Noble. I haven't been in awhile so I was unaware of the changes they had made. In the center now lives a huge ebook, and ereader section. It reminds me of a Apple store. Anyways, I was looking for "Cloud Atlas" and could not find it anywhere, so I went hunting for an employee to help me. Now keep in mind this place was freakin' packed to the rafters with people, I could not find a single employee...ANYWHERE!!! ! So I decided to ask one of the many (Seven at least) employees that were standing around in the Ebook display room. None of them would help me. One even said he couldn't help because it wasn't his job. No BS! So needless to say I was pissed. I finnaly found a customer service rep who found the book for me in seconds and just threw it at me. So I lost it and chucked it back at him and walked out!
The point of this rant is I can not believe how much goes into peddling ebooks and ereaders at a B&N when there roots are in actual books. This whole "I don't care what you need...would you like a Kindle?" shit really pisses me off.
Has anyone else noticed the decline in love for an actual book even at there local book store? Is this why the paper version of books is dying, because of a holes?
If you had a similar experience I would love to hear it.
