I seen this show on youtube actually (some clips from it). It is such an amazing show. Basically ordinary people are put in moral dilemmas to see how they react, etc. It's like Candid Camera but I feel it has more of a purpose.. Have you seen it? Do you like it?
The TV Show, "What Would You Do" on ABC... Seen it?

While I feel a lot of the situations are contrived and that ordinary instances of discrimination and such usually happen without people noticing, I do think it is eye-opening. I certainly questioned some of the things I may have done in the past and reflected on whether or not I was being discriminatory. It's a good concept. Though, I do fear those poor people will suspect future events to be hoaxes. And that would suck.

I've seen the show. IMO, I think this show creates drama and upsets people just to get ratings. If it's even real people who respond, which I doubt.
The stuff is so.... contrived. I can't stand it, personally. In fact, if it comes on without our realizing it, My Man will grab the remote, curse and turn off the TV. He detests it.
I think it is a very dangerous experiment in sociology that is done without consent of the people being upset. That is, if it isn't completely all actors, which is a pretty good guess of what is going on there. Some of the responses of people, in the few times I've watched it were SO pat and seemingly rehearsed, that I think the people who are supposed to "not know" it is a set up are simply part of the cast.

really? the ones I had seen, the "ordinary random people" really seemed shocked and surpised. I didn't think their reactions seemed scripted.. but then again, maybe they are. I just really love the concept of the show and love seeing people stand up for what they believe is right.

The ones involving children absolutely shock the hell out of me. I can understand a man's point of view in this day and age---to see a man talking to a child who obviously does not belong to them can come off as creepy or predatory, which is extremely unfair. It's easier for them to walk by and let someone else deal with it, especially if the child in question is female. But, the women? Man, they get involved so hardcore and I think it's amazing.

I do have to wonder how no one notices an army of a camera crew...

My initial thought was that I really liked the show. The one I saw had a little girl about to be forced to marry an old polygamist against her will... and I was surprised how many people ignored her situation and asked to be seated further away from her in the diner. Weather it's real or not, this made me think long and hard about how I would react if I saw someone needed help, and I don't want to be one of those people who just stands around and does nothing. So seeing this show made me more likely to stand up for people I don't know but I see need help instead of just thinking "it's not my problem"
All of that being said... you bring up some good points here.

I used to love watching it when they first aired, but I don't care about it anymore, got tired of watching similar topics over and over again.

In theory, I like the idea of the show. However, I do agree that it seems really contrived, and it seems to create drama with the intent to upset normal people just for ratings. For that fact, I don't really like it in practice. I don't like the idea of upsetting normal, everyday people for no reason except for "entertainment".

I saw the trailer, but forgot to tune in

No care to watch it honestly.

I don't really hate it, but I definitely don't love it.

I've seen it. It's just o.k. Nothing I would recommend. Nothing I would look for intentionally. It's one of those shows that you watch when you're bored and too lazy to find something cool. I've only seen it a few times.

I love that show. I don't always think it's 100% real, and I think sometimes the people know they're on camera, but I still enjoy it.
