I'm reading "On Writing" and I think it's a wonderful memoir of the craft. I've learned much about writing from this book, and absorbed some life experiences and insights as well. What's your favorite work of Stephen King?

Lisey's Story, Insomnia, Needful Things, Hearts in Atlantis, pretty much everything. Hohoh.

On Writing was a really good read. I like most of his fiction so picking a single favorite is impossible, but Hearts in Atlantis, The Shining, Salem's Lot, and Needful Things are the ones that really stand out. Oh, and that first short story collection of his... I think it was Skeleton Crew? (whichever one had The Mangler in it)?

I haven't had the chance to read many of his works. Someday, though. My dad is a diehard fan, and owns about 90% of SK's books.

Favourite book and made for TV series is "The Stand". The movies are ok... but I much prefer the made for TV movies of his. AND his short stories in movies (Shawshank for example).
