What type of movies do you prefer when you're tired and want to relax?

Contributor: pestilence pestilence
When you come home from a long day at work or school and collapse in front of the TV, what sort of film would you want to watch - a good film or a crap film?

Of course, the concept of a "good" film is highly subjective, but for the sake of this poll I'm defining good films as ones with novel ideas that help you think about things in new ways.

When I'm tired I love to watch comedies

When I'm tired I like to pop in things like Lord of the Rings, Elizabeth, Shakespeare in Love, or The Game. They aren't bright, happy films and the music is rather dark and melodic so it lulls me to sleep. I set the timer of course, but far enough in advance where I'm not trying to race the clock to go to sleep before it turns the television off.

I really like movies that make you think, but if I'm tired or stressed I don't feel like thinking too much. Disney movies are good for that sort of thing. Some Godzilla movies too.

I usually always prefer entertainment over "thinkers". I don't care what underlying message they're getting at and I don't want to analyze anything, just tell me a story.

When you're tired, usually you just wanna have some background noise or something very simple playing. I wouldn't want to watch something heavy on the philosophical end.

I wish there was a both option because I do believe that some entertaining films can be good films that spark knowledge or a clearer understanding about life and things that are important. Even if I am tired I still want to watch something that appeals to me which most of the time is thought provoking and entertaining.

Depends on how the day was. If it was a bad and a long day, something long and darker that I don't have to think too much through. If it was a great day just long, then something slap stick comedy where my brain can shut off.

If I want to learn something, I'll toss on an eductional program.
