I honestly try to read everything I can get my hands on---from the fine print on an advertisement to a tome on science and history. It depends on my mood. My fun reads are typically thrillier, horror, mystery and true story.

I guess mine would fall under "educational." I love non-fiction: sexuality, politics, philosophy, sociology, psychology, economics. Real life is much more fascinating to me than fiction.

I am the EXACT same way. I read EVERYTHING (fine print, receipts, etc etc). My mom is the oppisite. She "skims" over things. Sometimes I'll be at her place and she'll be on her computer and I'll be on mine, she'll mention of not understanding something and I usually have to say "Did you even read it". Most of the time she says "yes". I look at whatever she's confused about, and it's obvious she didn't read it at all lol.. I'm the reader in the family that's for sure!

Me too. I prefer non-fiction over fiction, but every so often will read a fiction book to "escape" so to say

I will read anything, but I definitely prefer history. My B.A. is in European History so I guess I have always enjoyed reading about history. My current obsession is Irish history.

I read a lot of random books (when I have the time!), but mysteries have always been my favorite.

I'm a voracious reader of lots of material, but I'm especially fond of alternate history, urban fantasy, and art historical non fiction. I also collect children's books b/c I like illustration.

Only ONE!!! I love many different genres, but felt true story covered a few more than the rest of the choices.

Science fiction for sure!

Urban fantasy, magic realism, etc. Anything that deals with the supernatural in the modern world, I'm all over.

When The Secret World comes out, I'm dialing in to that game -sohard-.

Fantasy and Science Fiction. But I'll read almost anything. Children's stories are usually cute too.

Wish you'd let us do multiple choice. I like romance, mystery, thriller, horror, fantasy, erotica, and some children's stories.

I like westerns, history and vampires. Does any one know of a book about a vampire cowboy in history?

While it takes place in the future, the Vampire hunter D novels are the closest thing I can think of. It does have kind of a western theme, though I wouldn't go so far as to say the main character is a cowboy. The author did say however, that the look of the main character was inspired from a western themed Phil Collins video.

As for what kind of books I like to read, I'll read pretty much anything, though fantasy is my favorite. The only science fiction I've really read is the Dune series. I'd like to read all of the prequel books, though I'm not sure how much I'll enjoy the because of how jarringly different the writing styles of those are compared to the originals.

It depends on my mood, but I really like fantasy, true-stories/memoirs, and slice-of-life stories. I like books that are darkly funny, like Vonnegut.
