We have a fairly large family for this day and age (well, two parents and three kids) and the remote tends to get lost a lot.

I'll tear the house apart (while reading my kids the riot act) looking for the remote. When I lose things, it drives me crazy and I can't rest until the stuff is found.

You forgot "Bitch about someone losing the remote until I found it".

It bugs me when people put the remote right next to the device it controls. Doesn't that eliminate part of the convenience of the remote?

We just got a new tv for the other room and the remote is insane. You slide it open and it has a keyboard. The tv has internet, it seriously blows my mind. My boyfriend likes walking room to room while carrying objects than forgets them, especially the remote. So I am always walking through the apartment looking for things and find them in random places, like the bathroom.

My remote is usually right next to me, if I really cannot find it, I'll use the ones for the other tvs/cable boxes.

Find the remote! When I need it I need it! Even if it takes me hours to find it. Last time, it's cause the puppy had ran off with it and destroyed it.

I would rather stay seated and watch whats on the channel because if I start looking for the remote and I cant find it I wont be able to do anything else until I find it. That drives me nuts, so I just let someone else in the house find it or I watch Netflix .

Oh most assuredly! Im always blaming it on my husband when the remote gets losts. He also is mainly in charge of cleaning the living room and he always puts the remotes on the TV stand when hes cleaning. It drives me nuts. Then I cant find and then I bitch about him "losing the remote". Its a wonderful cycle.

I "could" get up and change the channel using the box for the satellite, but that would just be "too time consuming", when I could spend less time finding where my other half stashed the remote.

I remember the days when I would just get up and change the channel. Now we have so many channels it's usually a lot faster to just look for the remote.

I'd hunt around for the remote for awhile. If that failed, I'd get up and change the channel on my tv.
Too bad for those who have tv's ya can't operate on the actual tv. It's a silly design on the manufacturers behalf.

We have 2 backup remotes because we lose our main one sometimes. I'm lazy when I'm watching TV, so if I lost all of them, I'd just watch the same channel until someone else got tired of it and looked for the remote. I have the internet to occupy me if it's something crappy that's on.
