I am a musician and wondered how many else of us there are here .
I play a few instruments. I have been playing Viola for like 12 years now and own my own gorgeous viola. I taught myself guitar in H.S. and was in a bagpipe band in Chicago for 3 years. I played tenor drums for that.
I used to play the piano, flute, guitar and clarinet when I was in public school. However I later started singing in choir, traveled and performed around the world, and have not turned back since. I have a very musical family, every member has been involved in some sort of Music Arts for 3 generations now.

I just don't have time anymore. I played piano as a kid, bass as a teenager / in my younger 20's. And I want to play guitar, but I need to devote time to make it happen. We shall see.

It takes time for me every time I stop playing. Viola on the other hand I can pick up and it's like I never stopped playing.
Oh, there's a good point. I voted that I don't play an instrument, but I can shred on Guitar Hero and Rock Band. Not so good at the drums, though. Lack of coordination I guess.
I played violin from very young to beginning of college--now I pick it up rarely but still remember how to play. I'm sticking with voice now ever since I discovered just how much I liked it in high school. Now I'm rocking it with my school's a cappella group and have never really looked back.
I am a music major, actually :] My primary instrument is voice, but I also play clarinet, saxophone, piano, and guitar. I've always wanted to play cello though...
p.s. The key signature? Way off. Flats go BEADGCF.

Thanks! My whole life has been submerged in music since I was really young, but I am musically illiterate. I can't read music and I don't know any music theory.

Same here... been playing since I was a teen, but sheet music may as well be Greek to me and music theory is just a phrase. I only recently learned to write Tab (which takes about 2 minutes to learn), so I could send the kid I tutor home with printouts of her favorite songs to practice. Doesn't matter though-- most of the best musicians I know play by ear.

That is the coolest thing about music, there is something for everyone. As far as the tech end of things... a friend was showing me these videos of Buckethead screwing around and playing guitar... that was totally insane.
@VieuxCare-Sure does!
@Cinnamon-formal training not required
@White Fox-I love Jazz!
@Gary-I think it is made up. There are many preludes and this one doesn't look like it actually makes musical sense. I know someone who was decent at trumpet but he never learned to read music! He wasn't the best but no one really knew unless he told them.
@Hotmama-gotta cut the line somewhere lol. But we should start one about Rockband!
I played the clarinet for years growing up, and then tried acoustic guitar as a teenager and just NEVER got it. I played piano for a little while and LOVED it but have not been able to afford one since - if I could find a way to have one, I'd still be continuing with that!
Oh, and since many vocalists consider themselves to be their instruments, I was a singer for a long time - select choirs and the like throughout school years, and competitively for youth and teenage events through my church when I was growing up.

So...do you play? How many? What are they?

Love your prelude!
I have played music since I was 12, keyboards and various world percussion instruments. Own a guitar and requinto, but haven't learned how to use them yet.
