Penetration and Flatulence

Kind of a random sex related thought..

I've also felt very, well, gassy when I had my annual pap and in the last year or so (since I got my IUD) I have also noticed that regular sex often makes me feel rather gassy as well.

Anyone else feel like this at times? I'm not super worried as I don't think there are any huge medical issues, just a little awkwardness sometimes. I'm just curious if I am alone.

Forum highlights on Penetration:

Women, do you prefer to come before penetration or do you prefer to come for the first time during?
Curiosity

How Many Minutes does it take you to have one Orgasm???
I usually get an orgasm 10 minutes into penetration.

Hands free vaginal dildo masturbation
Curious to see what the consensus is about vaginal penetration with a dildo without using your hands.

New to pretty much everything, looking at vibrators?
I'm looking at vibrators because I'm not quite comfortable yet with the idea of penetration, but vibrators look like what I'm ready to start with....

Sensuous – oil
Can you use this for penetration?

Sometimes, if you put a lot of pressure on your abdomen, you may get feelings like that. I usually don't feel gassy, but I know certain positions make me feel a bit bloated because there's so much pressure on my abdomen.

I know some positions cramp me up a little bit and will make my insides complain...thus feeling gassy for a few hours after sex. I have noticed very intense orgasms leaving me feeling a little bloated for awhile too (no idea why)...though I must confess that doesn't happen as often as I'd like I never noticed any change with my IUD though...

I hate to ask the obvious question, but is it vaginal sex or anal sex? If it's anal sex, I think the reason is pretty straight forward, you get air in there with whatever else you're putting up there.

Even it's vaginal, I will again come back to the anal sex bit. Given my own love for buttsex, my back end tends to loosen up when I'm aroused, regardless of where/if I'm being penetrated. An intense case of classical conditioning I suppose. I find that if there is enough moving around during vaginal sex, that I still end up with air inside of me, because I'm relaxed and moving and... well, I'm not really sure of the physics because I'm a bit involved with something else, but I'm sure you can make the leap.

If you're not into anal... then I have no idea why you're gassy.

If you're farting in the ordinary way during penetration, you might want to try an enema several hours before penetration. There is also a yoga position that involves lying on your back with your knees bent and pulling your thighs gently toward your chest. It helps to relieve gas pressure and you could try it an hour or so before penetration.

If your vagina is "farting" you could try pushing out with through your vaginal barrel (as though you were trying to turn it inside-out)several times before penetration. Introduce the penis or other penetrating item gradually, well-lubed, without pushing extra air up inside your vagina. Use a smooth, gentle, relatively quick motion for penetration, making sure that you are well-aroused first. Lots of pumping almost out then stroking back in traps air in the vagina sometimes. Or, you could just live with it.

Hope these suggestions help.

You know, I have been thinking about the lately too!

I have gone to the bathroom and tried to fart all I could before going into the bedroom, but I still sometimes fart during orgasm. I guess its because everything tightens up and convulses/contracts.

Just moan really loud and maybe he won't notice! If he does, say he makes you lose control to that level, its so good. I know farting during sex can be embarrassing, but...it happens!

I think I'll try that recommended yoga pose...

Thank you, Snappy. I just lost it over "vaginal barrel." Wow.

Okay, seriously now. I think Always Tink is onto something. I haven't had anal sex, but have played with toys, but regardless of that I still feel the same "loosening" back there during vaginal sex. I think air can just kind of get in there due to the motions of sex, even if it's a little at a time, and it just builds up in there. I go to the bathroom right after sex every time and I usually have some gas but after that bathroom trip I'm normal. Not sure how long after sex the gas problem lasts, though. (I can't help it, I'm still giggling...)

I've noticed in the past I've only passed gas during penis in vagina sex when my partner is hitting the back wall of my vagina, and once during fingering when he was hitting my back wall with his fingers.

Exactly: it happens. So why try covering it up? Everybody farts. It's humanly impossible to fart roses on cue without causing some kind of horrible internal damage to your intestines.

It's a normal part of life, including our sex lives, so it's best to just kinda go with the flow. If a partner is willing to drop you like a hot potato just because a fart slipped out, I say fuck 'em.

lol Reminds me of a post I wrote last year. link

As far as farting and sex goes- it happens... however you handle it is up to you. However, your partner handles it is up to them and some couples don't share the same reaction. Apparently, my husband didn't think it was very cute the first time farted while we were snuggling under the covers.

My fiancee and I both tend to have silent but deadly ones. It always happens that we're standing somewhere when one of us goes ". . . did you fart?"

It's always followed by a guilty smile.

A good way to get rid of gas before anything - lay down on your back and roll your body from side to side. A nurse told us this after one of my dad's colonoscopies when he was way more than just a wee bit gassy.

I'll have to keep it in mind. For risk of giving TMI - things like to sit around my colon and just make me uncomfortable always. I can usually feel gas for hours before something comes of it.

I have and IUD also but havent really noticed much difference. I do feel uncomfrotable when I feel that I have gas as we make love. Then I get too embarassed to let it out so I tell him to hurry up.

I sometimes fart when I am ready to squirt (penis/vag sex) and even though my husband laughs, I am mortified everytime, and to me it kills the mood.

maybe it has something to do with what you eat or drink? I get really gassy when I eat/drink things that I don't generally. Or beer in general the next day I am very gassy!
