Birthdate doesn't have to be listed on the public portion. It can be edited to show to no one (which mine is) or just to friends or other options. All of your "Personal Info" can be edited to adjust privacy settings.

I put my whole life on facebook. Not enough to find me by, but I'm not ashamed of my life. Everything's super private, and if someone finds it, so be it. No one can make me live my life in the shadows! Besides, the French people hiring doctors for trauma situations in third world countries don't really mind hiring people who have a drink with friends every once and again :] America's much more uppity about that stuff.

I'm good, except for the birth year. I didn't put the town though, cause that's a bit creepy. I'm an RA at a college, so most of this seems common sense to me--I don't want any of my residents knowing any too- personal info.
