It seems I'm not the only one here missing all the fun discussions and such that we used to have back when this place was really active, so I was brainstorming and below are a few little ideas.

I didn't want to go making a bunch of topics without assessing the interest level. xD

Feel free to contribute more, if you like.


1) An unofficial little club, I was personally thinking a craft one...but there's plenty of options. (Meetings might be on a set day depending on what you guys think...but not at any set times since I know we all have different schedules to stick to.)

2) A youtube video sharing/discussion thread where everyone can share some of their favorite videos with the rest of the community.

3) A monthly collaborated on drawing where we take turns adding a little something into picture? Not sure how well this would go over, but we could do a different theme each round and a different person would be starting the drawing out each round to keep things fair.

great idea! but I wouldn't wait to start any topic since the community is so sparse these days. go ahead, throw out some discussions & polls. that's the best way to get the forum up & running again. maybe not like it used to be, but at least to keep the participation of those of us here going. when we come to the forum & see nothing new, we just leave. but if we find something new, it's quite likely to get our attention. have fun w/ it.

I started a book recommendation thread Last night and I am hoping to come up with a few other threads over the next few days. I am shooting for topics that could possibly keep the threads going rather than a few posts and watch then have to watch them die.

Another thing I was thinking of doing was resurrecting a few older posts, either through posting to them or reposting ones that are closed. How do people like that idea?

I like to go back & look at older discussion topics I find interesting in some way & make a post & see if anyone else will too.

same here. My issue has been that alot of the ones I want to post to had polls attached and the threads are now closed

These are all great ideas! I will be helping a bit more now that I am back on here sometimes--working my way back to a few times per week...I will put some thought into this and see what I can come up with as well.

I agree with Edeneve, just go ahead an post whatever you think of! These are great ideas, KyotoAngel!

To those concerned about closed polls and old threads. Go ahead and restart the poll yourself if you want! I would add a link to the original if you want to, so people could read older responses (I've done this before, just not with a new poll attached, but I say why not?). There are also so many new people here that all the older topics will seem new and surely be interesting. Eventually, the same interests come up and we have new people to hear their ideas and opinions on things. We used to have to search to see if there already was a post on whatever we wanted to discuss. But now, most people don't bother searching or don't know to do so. Why not just post away and get things moving here again? If you don't get responses for a bit, just bump your thread up to the top again to expose it to anyone coming by. I know I often miss things because I only pop in and out and I usually only see what's at the top, or what's on my wall.

Alrighty...the drawing one will take a bit, since I have a lot of other drawing I have to do as well (big plans for the bf's birthday), but the others are easy enough.

It's good to know everyone isn't just writing off these forums as dead and calling it a day...it would be easy enough to do with there not even being mods anymore, but there's way too many awesome people on here to chat with to do that.
